Summary

The Chalet Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of Mount Kato’s guest experience within the Chalet and Food & Beverage areas. This role ensures the delivery of exceptional guest service, maintains a safe and efficient operating environment, and drives the success of the assigned departments. The Chalet Manager works closely with other resort leaders to achieve Mount Kato’s mission, vision, and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience and Service Delivery:

  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional guest service within the Chalet, proactively addressing guest needs and exceeding expectations.

  • Foster a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for guests in all Food & Beverage outlets.

  • Respond to guest inquiries, resolve problems, and manage complaints in a professional and timely manner.

  • Coordinate services between Chalet Operations and Food & Beverage to ensure a seamless and enjoyable guest experience.

  • Gather guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction.

  • Staff Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of staff members, including Chalet Attendants, Bartenders, Restaurant Supervisors, and Cafeteria Supervisors.

  • Ensure staff adherence to resort policies, procedures, and service standards.

  • Monitor staff performance and address any issues related to conduct or performance.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Chalet Operations:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Chalet, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety and quality standards.

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the Chalet facilities.

  • Coordinate with other departments, such as Mountain Operations and Events, to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.

  • Food & Beverage Operations Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure efficient operation of all food and beverage outlets.

  • Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service.

  • Monitor guest flow and seating arrangements in dining areas to optimize efficiency and minimize wait times.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and alcohol service laws.

  • Financial and Administrative Tasks:

  • Assist in budget management, monitoring expenses, and ensuring cost-effectiveness for the Chalet and Food & Beverage areas.

  • Handle transactions and payments accurately and securely.

  • Prepare reports and documentation as required.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

    Adaptation to Mount Kato

This role is specifically designed to oversee both the Chalet and Food & Beverage aspects of Mount Kato’s operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality, recreation, or tourism industry, with a focus on food and beverage and guest services.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for exceeding guest expectations.

  • Ability to handle difficult situations and resolve conflicts effectively.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in relevant computer systems and software, including POS systems and reservation systems.

  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • May require working in various weather conditions.

Work Environment

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments.

  • May require working extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak season.
